The shadow in the mirror

The Shadow in the Mirror

Lena had just moved into a new apartment in an old, creaky building. It was quaint, affordable, and had everything she needed—except for one odd feature: a massive antique mirror in the hallway. The previous tenants had left it behind, and though she found it unnerving, she decided to keep it, thinking it added some character to the place.

A few days into her stay, Lena noticed something strange. Every time she walked past the mirror, she felt a cold breeze and an odd sense of being watched. At first, she brushed it off, attributing it to an overactive imagination or old drafts in the building. But then she started seeing something.

Late at night, in the dim light of the hallway, she would catch glimpses of movement in the mirror—shadows that didn’t match her own. Once, as she was getting ready for bed, she saw a figure standing behind her in the reflection. She spun around, heart pounding, but no one was there.

The next night, Lena decided to confront her fears. Armed with nothing but her phone’s flashlight, she approached the mirror slowly, watching her reflection. Her breath fogged up the glass as she leaned closer. Suddenly, the shadow appeared again, but this time, it didn’t vanish. It moved—stepping out of the reflection.

Lena tried to scream, but her voice failed her. The last thing she saw was her own reflection, now grinning back at her, as the shadowy figure pulled her into the mirror.

The next morning, the apartment was silent. The landlord found Lena’s belongings undisturbed, but there was no sign of her. The only clue left behind was the antique mirror—now cracked, with faint, eerie handprints pressed against the inside of the glass.
